About Us

Nestled in the serene expanse of the Sam Houston National Forest, Wonder Forest Schoolhouse stands as a distinctive, Christian-based academic forest school program. Our school offers a unique educational experience for homeschool students ages 4-15, providing them with opportunities to receive a well-rounded education. We aim to prepare them for the challenges of the real world, while instilling a deep connection with nature, critical thinking, and practical skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Children in the Garden

Spanish Immersion Program

One of the highlights of our school is our Spanish immersion program. Through this signature program, academic instruction is provided in a Spanish-infused environment once a week.

This approach provides the student the opportunity to quickly acquire the second language by listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.

We all know that children are like sponges when it comes to learning what interests them. In today’s world, learning a second language is both increasingly important and highly beneficial. While Spanish-infused academic instruction in our outdoor schoolhouse once a week might sound a little overwhelming to some, most children adapt easily to this type of setting. With the help of creative outdoor activities and hands-on assignments, they naturally develop an interest in learning more of this beautiful language.

Don’t worry if your child doesn’t currently speak any Spanish—our fun and engaging teaching approach ensures that every student feels right at home in no time.

Christian Based

At Wonder Forest Schoolhouse, God Is at the Center of Everything We Do

Whether we’re learning Bible verses through song or marveling at God's creations—like witnessing hatchlings in a bird's nest—God is never left out of the learning experience at Wonder Forest Schoolhouse.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
—1 Peter 4:10

God has called us to be faithful stewards of the Earth. With this responsibility in mind, we teach children to care for His creation while also growing in self-reliance. Our innovative outdoor school not only allows children to breathe fresh air and build strong immune systems, but it also gives them the chance to experience the beauty of the natural world—not just through a screen, but with their own eyes, hands, and hearts.
